  My old congregation is being shuttered

  i just found out from my jehovah's witness cousin that my old congregation is being shuttered due to lack of elders, less than 20 members attending, and that the congregation cannot meet their monthly expenses.. here is a congregation that was started in 1975 with less than 15 members.

  it grew to 185 members in the 1990's.

  the congregation grew so large that the elders decided to split the congregation in two.

  What`s the reason some of you think JW`s are in decline ?

  from what i can see no such thing is happening.i became a jw in 1960 and remained for about 30 years and the numbers of active jw`s today in the world are far greater than they were back then.. and here in australia the numbers are much higher than they were back then .. so i don`t see that their in decline or have any worries about losing support .. don`t the numbers speak for themselves ?.

  is it just wishful thinking on your part ?.

  I read recently where exJW reddit is approaching 90,000 membership. Close to 300 a day are joining. In WT lingo that's 3 congregations a day of ex JWs. That number does not include those that are visiting and viewing exjw reddit, not yet subscribed. This same trend I'm sure is happening on dozens of other exJW online sites such as youtube.com Jehovah’s Witnesses.

  It's very possible that overall the equivalent of hundreds 💯's of ex jws congregations are forming/growing daily online as we speak...Yay!

  I was at a Circuit Assembly recently where Bro. GB Jeffrey Jackson was in-person guest speaker...he gave a talk just prior to the Baptism talk to an audience of 1,300 JWs. He walk boasting and making exaggerated comments of JW growth locally and worldwide. Then came the Baptism Talk...you'd think the speaker was talking to dozens of baptismal candidates seated before him. Then came the moment at the end of Baptism Talk where the Speaker asks the candidates to stand to answer in the affirmative the 2 Baptism questions. I kid you not...one...I repeat one young girl stood-up to be dunked!

  This was not a one-off event where 1 or 2 get baptized & most other assemblies have larger percentages getting dunked. No...I've visited other forums & online discussions boards where new JW membership numbers are seriously low in the U.S.A. & other Countries.

  So back to the title of this Thread:

  "What's The Reason Some Of You Think JWs Are In Decline?"

  wt 2021 october p.20 "in contrast, true worshippers of jehovah have no clergy.

  although we respect those who are taking the lead, we accept jesus’ clear teaching: “all of you are brothers.”".

  ijbq article 92 point 6: in contrast, true worshippers of jehovah have no clergy.

  Yes!

  Notice definition of clergy from the dictionary:

  Curtailing zoom

  co visit, so right from the horse's mouth ( or somewhere).

  too many are staying on zoom, missing face to face encouragement.

  look for the elders to implement changes.. also people at the door are so receptive and glad to see us.

  Rank & file are hanging onto their money due to high cost of living & overall inflation. I've heard that a number of congregations are operating in the red & very little in the contribution boxes is going to Mother in New York. Doing away with Zoom is only going to Piss-Off rank & file even more...won't help with morale or donations.

  WT/Mother was smart to invest in remodeling, construction & real estate businesses on the side...WT should also consider selling junk-food like hamburgers, hotdogs, ect....they've proven they can persuade members to buy into their unhealthy Spiritual Junk Food...why not fast food junk-food!😂😂😂

  Court Cases Costs?

  watch tower is in court all the time.

  it wins some.

  it loses others.. we know it costs £££££ to go to court, pay barristers, expert witnesses, etc.. with wtc going to court for so many diverse reasons these days, from challenging laws to defending wt practices and paying out to csa victims, how much do you think wtc is spending annually on court cases?.

  Can anybody put a figure on it for us?

  Philip Brumley, WT's lead Attorney could give you the numbers your asking for.

  My guess is maintaining a very large legal department at WT Headquarters...add to that all the outside legal consulting law firms + outside independent high-price expert lawyers + secret undisclosed settlements...your talking way north of tens of thousands of dollars an hour 24/7 worldwide...maybe $50 to $60 million a year...maybe!

  Sometimes the Pioneer Elderette in the family (the elder's wife) will answer the phone or chime-in with her husband on the same call...the end result is again, figuratively speaking, she feels this way after a bout with the champ... Christine:😂😂😂

  Quite often Christine (aka: Bridget Fromaz) gets JW elders who answer her phone calls. Sometimes the conversations end with the elder coming away with the equivalent of a black-eye and numerous bruises...however more often than not, the elders will wind-up with 2 black-eyes, a bloodied & broken nose and a fat lip!😂
